General Practice (Medical Director Veterinarian)

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director for their full-service animal clinic located in downtown Berkeley, CA. This established practice has been serving the surrounding communities since 1969 and provides care for dogs, cats, pocket pets, guinea pigs, and exotic animals.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM and is closed on weekends.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director role includes both clinical and leadership responsibilities. Clinically, the role involves surgery, dentistry, wellness and preventative care, radiology, urgent care, and behavioral medicine. The position is suited for an experienced veterinarian ready to step into a leadership role, helping to guide the team and uphold the clinic's standards for patient care and client service.

Practice Details
The clinic is clean, well-organized, and equipped with advanced tools and technologies to support a high standard of veterinary care. Services provided include chronic disease management, pain management, microchipping, dental care, specialty referrals, senior pet care, travel certificates, and a fully stocked in-house pharmacy. The caseload is varied and supported by a loyal client base and a strong community reputation.

Team
The clinic is home to three experienced DVMs and is supported by a team of skilled veterinary technicians and assistants. The environment is collaborative, team-focused, and ideal for a leader who values mentorship, communication, and continuous improvement in both medicine and client care.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
