Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Patient Care: Provide high-quality veterinary care for small animal patients, including preventive care, wellness exams, diagnostics, and treatment for a variety of medical conditions.
- Surgical Proficiency: Perform routine and advanced surgeries, including spays, neuters, dental procedures, and soft tissue surgeries with precision and care.
- Diagnostic Expertise: Utilize diagnostic tools such as radiology, ultrasound, and laboratory services to diagnose and treat patients effectively.
- Client Education and Communication: Educate pet owners on their pets' health needs, treatment options, and preventive care strategies. Maintain clear, compassionate communication with clients regarding their pet’s health status and treatment plans.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the veterinary team, including technicians, assistants, and administrative staff, to provide the best care for patients in a positive and supportive environment.
- Emergency and Critical Care: Provide emergency care when necessary, making quick, informed decisions during critical situations to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records for all patients, adhering to practice policies and regulatory requirements.
- Professional Development: Stay current with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine by attending continuing education programs, staying up-to-date with research, and applying best practices in clinical care.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Valid veterinary license to practice in South Carolina (or the ability to obtain one).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical veterinary experience preferred, though new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Expertise in small animal medicine, surgery, and diagnostics.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with clients and staff.
- Ability to handle a wide range of medical, surgical, and emergency cases.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
