About the Role

As a Medical Director (Managing DVM), you will play a vital role in leading and mentoring the veterinary team, ensuring high standards of medical care, and driving the hospital’s long-term success. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing medical leadership and oversight for the practice.
  • Managing associate veterinarians and supporting their growth and development.
  • Establishing medical protocols and ensuring compliance with veterinary regulations.
  • Partnering with hospital leadership to develop a strategic vision for the clinic.
  • Leading team meetings, performance reviews, and staff development.
  • Collaborating with a Regional Operations Manager to drive hospital growth and efficiency.
  • Fostering a positive hospital culture that emphasizes teamwork, professional development, and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited program.
  • Active Texas veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • 5+ years of veterinary experience preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and inspire teams.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to manage staff effectively.
  • Commitment to high medical standards and ethical veterinary practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
