Key Responsibilities:
- Veterinary Care: Provide excellent medical care to small animal patients, including wellness exams, vaccinations, diagnostics, and treatment of various illnesses and injuries.
- Surgical Skills: Perform routine surgeries such as spays, neuters, and dental procedures, along with more advanced surgical procedures as needed.
- Client Communication: Educate clients about their pets' health, preventive care, and treatment options. Build strong relationships with pet owners through clear communication and compassionate care.
- Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic tools such as digital radiography, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory services to effectively diagnose and treat patients.
- Emergency Care: Provide emergency care during regular hours, handling urgent cases with skill and professionalism.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a team of veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff to ensure high standards of patient care and clinic efficiency.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate medical records for each patient, ensuring compliance with clinic protocols and regulatory standards.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine through continuing education opportunities and engagement in professional organizations.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- Valid veterinary license to practice in Ohio (or the ability to obtain one).
- 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong interest in small animal medicine, surgery, and preventive care.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Compassionate, detail-oriented, and dedicated to providing the best possible care for pets and their families.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience with emergency care is a plus but not required.
