Veterinary Sales Jobs
A Veterinary Sales Representative often acts as the vital link between veterinary pharmaceutical companies and veterinary clinics or hospitals. They are responsible for promoting and selling a company's products, which include pharmaceuticals, veterinary equipment, or animal health products to veterinarians. They build relationships with veterinarians and their staff, provide product information and demonstrations, and follow up on sales. Additionally, they may have to attend trade shows and veterinary conferences to network, stay informed about industry trends, and promote their products.
Important skills for a Veterinary Sales Representative include excellent communication and negotiation skills, a keen interest, and understanding of animal health, and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships. They need to be self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently. A bachelor's degree is usually required, often in a related field such as animal science, biology, or business. Some companies may prefer candidates who are Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVTs), as this qualification provides a solid understanding of animal health. Prior roles that provide relevant experience include work as a veterinary technician or nurse, a pharmaceutical sales representative, or roles within the animal health industry.
