General Practice (Veterinarian)

Introduction
Our client is a small animal practice located in Tehachapi and is currently hiring for a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join their team.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and is closed on Sundays. Doctor hours are to be discussed. This is a full-time position.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will develop a rapport with clients to understand their needs and wishes, perform physical examinations, and carry out diagnostic, medical, surgical, and dental procedures to provide the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress. Responsibilities include explaining examination findings, communicating diagnoses, presenting treatment plans, and educating clients on preventative health care such as vaccinations and nutrition. The veterinarian will maintain accurate medical and surgical records, follow established protocols, assist colleagues with follow-up care, stay current through Continuing Education, support the development of the paraprofessional team, and positively represent the hospital in the community. This position is open to experienced veterinarians.

Practice Details
This small animal practice focuses on routine check-ups, vaccinations, diagnostics, and everyday care, with some emergency cases and limited orthopedics. The hospital includes a complete in-house diagnostic lab, digital radiology (including dental), ultrasonography, and a complete surgical suite. It has a high patient volume, a loyal client base, and a culture committed to evolving with the profession and supporting the hospitals core values.

Team
The hospital has four veterinarians and an incredible support staff, all working in a close-knit, collaborative environment.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so

Salary from $140,000 (Annual)

• Starting base salary of $140k plus Production
• 120 hours annual PTO and 40 hours additional PTO for CE
• $3,500 annual CE allowance for licenses, dues, conference expenses
