General Practice (Veterinarian)

Introduction
Our client is a privately owned hospital that provides full-service general practice care for cats and dogs, with the potential to expand to pocket pets or exotics if a doctor has relevant experience. They are currently hiring for an Associate Veterinarian to join their team.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open from 7:30am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 3:00pm on Saturdays, and is closed on Sundays. Full-time doctors typically work 3 to 4 weekdays and rotate Saturdays. Part-time positions require a minimum of 2 weekdays. Appointments are scheduled between 9:00am and 12:00pm, then again from 3:00pm to 6:00pm in 30-minute intervals. A 3-hour midday break is included for lunch, catching up on notes, or making client calls. There is the option to include one dedicated surgery day per week or to maintain a non-surgical caseload, depending on the doctors preference.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role includes the full range of general practice responsibilities with some urgent care cases. The practice welcomes both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with mentorship available to support early-career doctors. Clinical duties may involve wellness care, internal medicine, surgery, and dentistry, depending on the veterinarians interests.

Practice Details
The hospital features state-of-the-art equipment, including digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, laser therapy, surgical laser, electronic medical records, and IDEXX in-house lab capabilities. It is connected to a rehabilitation clinic that offers an underwater treadmill and physical therapy services. While not formally accredited, the team practices to FearFree standards. A brand new hospital building is currently under construction and is set to open in November 2025. The new facility will feature six exam rooms, a comfort room for euthanasia, separate dog and cat waiting areas, and plans to include MRI capabilities in the future.

Team
The veterinary team includes two DVMs, supported by an average of 2.5 technicians per doctor. The practice maintains a full support team and fosters a collaborative, mentorship-oriented environment.
