We are looking for an experienced Ranch Hand to join our family ranch in San Antonio, TX. This is a hands-on role working directly with cattle and horses in a traditional ranch environment. The right person takes pride in their animals, communicates proactively, and keeps the family informed with regular updates.

Schedule:

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday ON
Tuesday & Wednesday OFF
9 hours/day with 1-hour paid lunch
Total: 40 hours/week

Responsibilities:

Daily care and feeding of cattle (bulls and cows) and horses
Barn and stable maintenance: cleaning, bedding, mucking, repairs, organization
Monitor animal health: identify illness, injury, or behavioral changes and report immediately
Assist with loading, moving, and sorting cattle as needed
Basic horse handling: grooming, feeding, turnout, and stall care
Maintain pastures, fencing, water systems, and equipment
Send daily or as-needed status updates via mobile app: photos and short videos of animals, facilities, and any issues
Keep grounds and facilities clean and orderly
Work independently and manage daily tasks without constant supervision

Requirements:

Proven hands-on experience with cattle (bulls and cows) and/or horses
Comfortable and confident handling large animals safely
Knowledge of barn and stable operations
Smartphone required: must be comfortable sending photos, short videos, and text updates through a mobile app
Reliable, physically fit, able to work outdoors in all weather
Self-motivated and dependable, livestock care does not stop
Valid driver's license preferred

What We're Looking For:
This is a family ranch. We want someone who treats these animals like their own, communicates openly, and keeps us in the loop without being asked. If something is wrong with an animal, we want to know immediately : not at the end of the day.
