Position Summary:
The Philpot laboratory develops therapeutics for single gene disorders. We are seeking a research technician to perform research tasks in the lab as well as help with lab management duties. Research tasks will include performing mouse behavioral experiments, mouse colony organization and breeding, histological assays (e.g. immunocytochemistry), confocal microscopy, tissue collections and processing (dissections, sectioning, immunohistochemistry), and data analysis. This position will require animal handling.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Management Preferences:
- Prior laboratory experience in a related field such as Microscopy, Immunohistochemistry or Genotyping
- Understanding of rodent behavior
- Basic understanding of neuroscience
Special Physical/Mental Requirements:
This position will require animal handling.
-Must be able to stand up to 6 hours/day
-Must be able to move up to 50 pounds
-Must be able to climb a step ladder
Duties to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
