Care Center located in Cincinnati , OH is seeking a fulltime Veterinary Assistant to join our outstanding surgical team for the summer! If you're passionate about veterinary medicine, eager to gain hands-on experience, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to meet you.

Schedule: Fulltime position, schedule will vary - weekdays only

Pay Range: $17-20/hour depending on experience

Responsibilities

Patient Care & Support

Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, procedures, and treatments

Monitor and support surgical and hospitalized patients

Perform surgical prep and follow operating room protocols

Maintain surgical equipment and prepare lab samples

Communication & Client Education

Share organized updates with the care team

Provide pet owners with clear home-care instructions and updates

Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless care

Hospital Maintenance & Safety

Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient hospital environment

Accurately document patient care and treatments

Essential Skills

Patient restraint skills, including behavioral assessment and safe handling

Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced work environment

Strong problem-solving abilities

Basic computer proficiency

Effective communication and organizational skills

Education & Experience Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or higher education

Prior clinical or animal handling experience preferred (but not required)

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted
