Overview

Magnolia Veterinary Hospital is currently seeking a skilled Overnight ICU Veterinary Technician.

As a vital member of our hospital care team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care to animals requiring intensive monitoring and treatment during overnight hours. You'll collaborate closely with our veterinarians and support staff to provide the highest standards of care, compassion, and communication.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Stabilize and manage acute and chronic conditions with precision and care.

  • Recognize subtle shifts in patient status before anyone else does.

  • Deliver clear, empathetic guidance to families during high-stress moments.

  • Operate independently with clarity and integrity after hours.

  • Participate actively in CPR and critical resuscitations.

Example Cases We Handle

  • Trauma (HBC, ABD, GSW, etc.)

  • Acute respiratory distress

  • Poisoning & toxin ingestion

  • Post-surgical monitoring

  • Severe infections & sepsis

  • Organ dysfunction

Qualifications:

  • Active South Carolina Veterinary Technician License (LVT) or eligibility to obtain.

  • At least 2 years of veterinary experience (ICU/anesthesia experience preferred).

Our Shifts: 8 p.m. to 8:30 a.m.-Why 12 Hours?

  • Continuity of Care: Fewer shift changes mean smoother handovers and better patient outcomes

  • Patient Bonding: Longer shifts allow deeper understanding of patient needs

  • Efficiency: More time at cageside, less time spent on administrative turnover
