Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists is seeking a Veterinary Diagnostic Technician to join our talented, cohesive, and compassionate team. At CCVS, our Diagnostic Technicians work closely with the Emergency and Critical Care services as part of an integrated clinical care team. This position supports high-quality diagnostics for triage patients, surgical patients, and hospitalized patients while helping ensure timely results, accurate records, and excellent patient care.

About This Role
The Veterinary Diagnostic Technician plays an important role in supporting patient care across the hospital. This position works hands-on with laboratory diagnostics, radiology, CT, sample processing, and medical record documentation. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable in a fast-paced hospital environment, and committed to supporting both patients and clinical teams.
Responsibilities include but are not limitedt to:
- Running in-house laboratory samples for triage, surgery, and hospitalized patients
- Processing samples for outside laboratory submission
- Assisting with blood bank responsibilities
- Recording diagnostic results accurately in the patient medical record
- Helping obtain samples by assisting veterinary technicians and clinical team members
- Setting up and performing patient radiographs
- Submitting radiographs online for interpretation
- Printing radiology reports each morning
- Entering radiology reports into patient records
- Running CT studies on patients
- Cleaning and stocking multiple diagnostic areas within the hospital
- Supporting patient flow and communication between diagnostic areas and clinical teams
Qualifications
- Previous veterinary hospital experience preferred
- Experience with in-house laboratory equipment, radiology, or diagnostic workflows strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation
- Comfort working with emergency, critical care, and specialty patients
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach
- Willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative specialty and emergency hospital environment
Schedule and Compensation
- This is a full time position.
- The schedule includes day and swing shifts, with weekend shifts and a holiday rotation.
- Pay Range: $20-$24/hour
Compensation is based on experience, expertise, credentials, schedule, and overall alignment with the role. Most new hires can expect an offer between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
