Medical Director Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring a Medical Director to join a large, collaborative small animal practice providing care to dogs and cats. The hospital is seeking an experienced veterinarian to lead the clinical team while delivering high-quality medicine in a well-supported and progressive environment.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The role involves a combination of leadership and clinical responsibilities, with approximately 30% of time dedicated to overseeing medical quality, guiding the veterinary team, and contributing to the hospital's strategic direction, and 70% focused on hands-on clinical work. Clinical duties include wellness exams, preventative care, diagnostics, internal medicine, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. Additional responsibilities include supporting patient care standards, collaborating with management, and driving positive outcomes across the hospital. This is a full-time position suited to experienced veterinarians.

Practice Details
Our client is a large, highly collaborative small animal hospital equipped with advanced technology including digital radiology, dental radiography, ultrasound, EMR systems, cold and therapeutic lasers, acupuncture, and cryosurgery capabilities. Services offered include advanced and routine dental care, diagnostics, preventative care, wellness programs, parasite control, microchipping, general surgery, internal medicine, emergency care, hospice care, pain management, and alternative medicine such as acupuncture and herbal therapies. The practice operates with a flexible scheduling model and is open Monday to Thursday 8:00 am-7:30 pm, Friday 8:00 am-3:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am-2:00 pm, and Sunday closed.

Team
The team consists of 8 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team. The environment is highly collaborative and supportive, with a strong focus on teamwork, communication, and maintaining high standards of patient care.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
