Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Three years of experience in the care and feeding of animals are required.
Recruitment Notes
This is a specialized supervisory work with administrative responsibility and the caring and feeding of animals. The incumbent in this class is responsible for planning, assigning and reviewing the work of all subordinate Animal Care Specialists on an assigned shift; duties may include supervising the cleaning, disinfection, impounding and handling animals; and training subordinates in appropriate animal care and control techniques. Additional tasks, include but are not limited to, prepares and submits payroll to Human Resources via INFORMS; responsible for the hiring, discipline, and performance evaluations; develop and provide trainings; ensure all animal needs are properly met and that they are cared for, fed, watered, maintained and housed in a humane manner.
