What Youll Be DoingYou'll be an essential part of our medical team, working on a variety of cases from preventive care to urgent situations. Your technical skills, compassion, and adaptability will make a real impact every day.

4-day work week
Rotating Saturdays
Must be available for closing shifts (until 8:00 PM)
Typical shifts: 7:30 AM 5:30 PM or 10:00 AM 8:00 PM with one Saturday a month
Required:
Minimum 1 year of experience
Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Virginia
Preferred Skills:
IV catheter placement
Experience in urgent care or ER settings
Anesthesia and surgical support proficiency
Strong team player with a collaborative spirit
Able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Your Impact as an Urgent Care Credentialed Veterinary TechnicianNote: The Credentailed Veterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and/or state and will be outlined by the states Veterinary Practice Act and/or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable.
- Be a Lifeline for Patients in Crisis: You'll be on the front lines, utilizing your full skillset in triage, stabilization, patient monitoring, and critical care under veterinarian supervision.
- Provide Clarity in Critical Moments: You'll be a vital and calming link for pet owners, clearly explaining treatments, reviewing discharge instructions, and providing reassurance during stressful times.
- Lead and Elevate Your Team: In a fast-paced setting, you'll guide and support your colleagues, ensuring a smooth workflow and fostering a focused, collaborative atmosphere.
- Ensure Seamless Care: Your clear and accurate record-keeping in a fast-paced environment will be crucial for patient handoffs, case management, and effective team communication.
- A calm, efficient, and decisive approach, especially during medical emergencies.
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program and a current state license in good standing.
- Proficiency in a range of technical skills, with a strong aptitude for emergency procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care nursing.
- Confidence in handling animals of all temperaments and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively under pressure.
- One year of experience in a veterinary setting is preferred; urgent care or emergency experience is a plus!
