Introduction
Our client is a small animal general practice hospital hiring for a Medical Director. The clinic delivers high standards of care across preventative medicine, surgery, dentistry, and urgent care, within a collaborative and quality-focused environment.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on an every other Saturday rota. The role offers flexibility with both full-time and part-time options available.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian. As Medical Director, responsibilities include leading and mentoring associate veterinarians, conducting performance discussions, and supporting individual development goals. The role involves setting and maintaining high standards of medical care, client service, and efficiency while also practicing clinically. Additional responsibilities include partnering with the Practice Manager to support hospital performance, contributing to operational planning, ensuring compliance with medical and regulatory standards, and leading initiatives that support team growth, recruitment, and retention. Clinical duties include providing complete care, preventative services for puppies and kittens, dentistry, surgery, and sick and urgent pet care.

Team

Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
