Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Veterinary Laboratory Technician to join the in-house laboratory team at our large, multi-specialty, 50+ doctor mixed animal hospital and emergency center and new state of the art Laboratory. The technician will play a vital role in supporting patient care by performing a wide range of diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures for both companion and large animals.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policyProvide compassionate care to patients and clients: able to conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed and/or focused on individual tasksBlood work including CBCs with differentials, chemistry testing, endocrinology, and serology Urinalysis including reading sedimentVarious forms of fecal testing Limited microbiologyProcessing lab paperworkPreparing shipments to outside laboratoriesMaking reagentsAnalyzing tests for the DEP water labQuality control and Quality assurance workRegular (weekly and monthly maintenance) on instrumentsStocking lab suppliesMaintain positive, cooperative relationships with other employeesMaintain a professional appearancePerform other duties as deemed necessaryPreferred Education & Experience The ideal candidate will have High school diploma or equivalent CVT or student in an accredited Veterinary Technician program.
