We are open to experienced RVT's! Campus Veterinary Clinic is a long-standing general practice hospital with deep ties to the community, located in beautiful Berkeley, California. Our goal is to provide compassionate and quality medicine while striving to make an impact in our community and treat our patients/clients like family. We aim to provide owners with sound, honest choices for their pets and to provide our patients with excellent and compassionate medical care. We strive to give our customers the best personalized service possible and to create a friendly, professional work environment for our awesome staff! Salary: $28 - $39 per hour, depending on experience, education, licensure, and certifications. Schedule: We are open Monday - Friday 7:30am - 6pm, shifts starting at 7:00am. Saturday coverage is not required at this time. Closed on Sunday and all federal holidays. Location: 1807 Martin Luther King Jr Way, Berkeley, CA 94709 Benefits: Continuing education allowance, license reimbursement, scrub allowance, additional PTO and sick time Who You Are: 3+ years' experience working as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant in a veterinary clinical hospital Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in California required - or eligibility to transfer/acquire state licensure within 3 months of hire As a Lead RVT, this role is considered a supervisor role. They will oversee and support the PM with being a point of contact on the floor with the techs and DVM's. Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required. Knowledge of industry tools and equipment Compassionate and calm demeanor with animals and clients Experience with proper animal handling and restraint; Fear-Free and low stress handling preferred Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare Strong pharmacology knowledge including dosages, routes, side effects and proper administration Ability to perform complete dental prophylaxis with radiographs Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints General nursing care including fluid therapy, vital monitoring, pain assessment and management Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation; Idexx laboratory equipment Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis Educating clients on animal care, medications, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities Ability to handle stressful or emotional situations professionally Adaptable to working well with current doctors and team members Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills And all other duties of a Registered Veterinary Technician as allowable by law Learn more about us at: Campus VC or: AmeriVet: Veterinary Partner Supporting Your Business What Makes Us Different Referral program - join our team, bring your friends, and get paid!
