Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have an Associate's degree or higher

Must be licensed as a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)

Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in general practice, including taking patient histories, running in-house labs, providing treatments, and filling medications

Must have several years experience and be comfortable running general anesthesia; must be comfortable troubleshooting technical issues on the spot

Must be rabies vaccinated or willing to become vaccinated

Ideally would be BLS/ALS certified or willing to become certified

Ideally would have experience with anesthetized dental procedures and dental X-rays

Must be familiar with and comfortable taking radiographs

Ideally would have some level of comfort working with exotics, including rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, and birds

Familiarity with Fear Free techniques and a willingness to enact these techniques in practice

Must be able to run in-house laboratory equipment, ideally Idexx equipment

Should be self-motivated and possess excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude, attention to detail, ability to multitask and exceptional time management skills.

Experience managing daily clinic operations to include client communications, appointment schedule setup and clinic flow, electronic record keeping, generating estimates, management of accounts receivables, and inventory control in conjunction with students.

Candidates should be prepared to work with high school students in a learning environment.

Have the ability to take information obtained from clients, staff, and other sources, and assess the vet center and its operation objectively.
