Grooming AssistantSeneca Hill Animal Hospital Resort and Spa is looking for a friendly animal loving individual to join our grooming team!At Seneca, our goal is to provide excellent veterinary services to the community and do everything possible to help those in need. Job Responsibilities:Assist Pet Groomers with bathing, blow-drying, brushing in an efficient and effective mannerBathe animals going home from boardingSafely and properly restrain animals for hair-cutsPrepare the bathing areaMix shampoos and conditioner to proper dilution ratiosMaintain a clean work stationClean cagesConfirm next day grooming appointments with clientsSchedule future grooming appointmentsAssist the Groomers with invoicingFill out grooming formsKnowledge about the vaccine schedule and required boosters for animalsMake calls to clients when pets are ready for pick-upSkills Needed:Love and compassion for animalsPositive attitudeAbility to read and comprehend instructionsEffective communication skillsExperience caring for animals, proper animal handling and restraint techniques (or willingness to learn)Ability to learn veterinary softwareExceptional customer service skillsMust be able to multitask in a fast paced environmentAbility to stand and bend for long periods of timeAbility to lift 50 lbsDetail-oriented, outgoing, reliable and honestWeekend availabilityPhysical Obligations:Able to lift and carry up to 50 poundsEndure standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods of timeAble to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipmentTake safety precautions for exposure to toxins, drugs, anesthesia and radiationEducational Requirements:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum age requirement of 18 years oldBenefits:Medical, Vision, Dental, and Life insurance offered401k offered after 1 year of employment with 3% employer matchPTO and sick pay offered and increases with longevity of employmentUniform allowanceGreat pet care discountFriendly and compassionate work environmentSeneca provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
