POSITION SUMMARY

Kennel Attendant will provide care for canines in our Moyock facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor health and well-being of dogs
  • Immediately report any health or medical issues to Kennel Supervisor
  • Clean kennels, feeds, grooms, exercises, and administers medication(s) to dogs
  • Transport dogs to the veterinarian
  • Complete K-9 documentation as directed
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma required
  • Previous kennel or veterinary experience not required
  • Must possess valid Driver's License
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
  • Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Various tasks may require intermittent standing or prolonged sitting
  • Ability to walk, reach, kneel crouch and handle work related supplies and tools
  • Additional details related to physical requirements may be outlined in the Companys Performance Work Statement or Contract with the client
  • Must be able to lift and carry various items weighing up to 100 lbs. Requires standing for long periods of time in all weather conditions. Requires intermittent sitting, walking, running, climbing, squatting, stretching, bending, and kneeling. Requires constant use of hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work conditions can vary from a busy training environment to field work, both subject to frequent interruptions. Frequent work outside and in inclement weather conditions is required, including heat, cold, and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Normal work hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required, and the work schedule will vary.
