Veterinary Technician (Vet Tech)

Gregg Animal Hospital is looking to add experienced Veterinary Technicians (Vet Tech) to our small animal veterinary team in Columbia, South Carolina . We are looking for skilled technicians who enjoy hands-on patient care, supporting veterinary procedures, and working in a collaborative veterinary hospital environment.

This role is ideal for a veterinary technician who wants to utilize their technical skills in surgery, anesthesia, diagnostics, and patient care while continuing to grow in their career.

Veterinary Technician Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with patient exams and treatments
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and lab sample collection
• Run in-house diagnostic testing and laboratory work
• Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical procedures
• Prepare patients for surgery and maintain sterile surgical areas
• Administer medications and treatments as directed
• Record and maintain accurate medical records
• Provide client education and discharge instructions
• Support daily hospital workflow and patient care

Veterinary Technician Qualifications

• Previous veterinary technician or vet assistant experience preferred
• Experience with surgery support and anesthesia monitoring
• Strong animal handling and patient care skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced veterinary hospital
• Strong communication and client service skills
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Willingness to learn and grow in veterinary medicine

Pay: Competitive hourly pay based on experience
