Position Title: Pharmacy Technician 1

Work Location: Henderson Rd, Tampa, FL, 33634

Assignment Duration: 11 months

Work Schedule: 10:30AM-7PM

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Position Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician Fulfillment provides assistance in the preparation and distribution of drug products. The Technician is responsible for preparing the prescription medications via use of the fulfillment system.

Background & Context:

We are a team of 4 pharmacists, 5 technicians, and 3 shippers. We work very closely to fulfill prescription orders to meet the needs of our patients and prior to our pick ups from FedEx and UPS by end of day.

The reason for this request is we are migrating pharmacy software and time will be needed for training of our employees to familiarize themselves with the new software and provide feedback to ensure the software is optimized for our business needs.

The pharmacy technician role is a key component of the prescription fulfillment journey. We dispense specialty medications - life saving medication for rare or complex conditions such as cancer, cystic fibrosis, psoriasis, asthma, etc.

We are close-knit team who helps each other out whenever needed. We go above and beyond not only for our patients but for each other as well.

This role is 100% on site. We are closed on weekends.

*Assisting in dispensing of medication. Printing pick tickets, finding the corresponding drug(s) / supplies, and inputting into computer software the correct qty, lot, and NDC of drug and supply lines.

*Assisting in all aspects of inventory management. Assists in receiving drug from supplier/carrier, unpacking, sorting, and receiving into computer system. Assists in putting the drugs and supplies on the shelf correctly and in an orderly manner.

*Assists in shipping by using the correct pack outs for refrigerated or ambient medications, restocks gel pack, restocks coolers.

*There is a company orientation. I will show them around the facility and show them their workstation. I will have them work with other team members on various stations to ensure they get an idea of how our day to day operations work.

Key Responsibilities:

Process prescription exceptions which may include: resolving claim rejects and member and physician outreach.

Enter member demographics and prescription information into the data processing system.

Research and resolve rejected insurance billing issues and/or escalated member issues.

Escalate questions regarding prescription to a Pharmacist for interpretation or provide direction on processing.

Assist with inbound and/or outbound patient or physician calls.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualification & Experience:

High School diploma.

0 to 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience.

Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as required by state of operation.

Basic computer skills.

Required: High school diploma

Preferred: Bachelors
