Our client is a hospital in Mountain View, California, seeking a Medical Director to lead their general practice team. Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will oversee clinical and operational excellence in partnership with the Hospital Manager and company leadership. Responsibilities include supporting a positive client experience, delivering high-quality medical care, examining, diagnosing, and treating patients, performing surgical procedures (including routine and complex operations), prescribing treatments and preventative care, interpreting diagnostics, maintaining accurate records, and providing emergency or critical care when needed. This role requires a licensed veterinarian in good standing in California, with 35 years of clinical experience. Leadership experience is preferred.
Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with IDEXX lab equipment, digital and dental x-ray, and a dedicated surgical suite. Board-certified specialists are available for on-site ultrasounds and cardiac workups. Services offered include wellness exams, diagnostics, vaccinations, dental care, an on-site pharmacy, surgeries, spays and neuters, health certificates, and end-of-life care. The hospital promotes a culture of collaboration and excellence.

Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
