Van Crest Animal Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina, seeks a full-time hospital manager to join our friendly, community-oriented practice.
Our ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, a self-starter, works well with others, and can effectively utilize downtime. Applicants must be highly organized and detail oriented. The candidate is expected to be proficient in:
- Analytical skills: strong ability to analyze information quickly and efficiently as it relates to the hospital’s finances.
- Strategic planning: the ability for financial forecasting, marketing plans, and long-term plans for the growth of the practice.
- Leadership: ability to effectively manage and direct hospital staff toward a common goal
- Decision-making skills: possess the ability to make good decisions, solve problems, and decide on essential matters.
- Communications: demonstrate the ability to communicate, orally, and in writing, effectively to convene necessary information to hospital staff.
- Resourcefulness and adaptability: the ability to take the initiative and get things done as well as the ability to adapt to changes or new information.
- Compliance: ability to understand and manage important compliance regulations and requirements of the hospital.
- Planning and prioritizing: must be able to organize work efficiently, set priorities, and establish plans and timetables for achieving goals.
- Development and engagement: ability to train and develop the veterinary support staff for proficiency and create an environment where all hospital staff thrive.
Van Crest Animal Hospital is an established practice that offers general services to Columbia, South Carolina and surrounding communities.
We are looking for someone to help Van Crest Animal Hospital continue to grow as a practice that provides high quality care to dogs and cats, hiring and developing a dedicated team that includes a large, experienced support staff who will provide exceptional care. We are looking for an individual who can develop rapport with staff and clients and has a passion for veterinary medicine.
About the Hospital
- Well-established practice serving the West Columbia community for over 18 years
- Recently renovated building with 4 exam rooms and spacious facility
- High-quality and up-to-date new equipment includes sevoflurane anesthesia, cardiac, respiratory, pulse oximetry monitors, EKG, BP, digital radiography, digital dental x-ray, ultrasound, and a fully equipped laboratory.
- General and Dental Surgery, including digital and dental X-ray
- Power lift tables and computers in exam rooms
- Collaborative work setting, including monthly staff and doctor meetings
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, health science, or a related field is strongly preferred but not required.
- At a minimum, five years of direct office management experience, including at least two years of supervisory experience, is required.
- Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) or Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) is preferred but not required.
- May consider an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Estimated $55k-65k per year
