Key Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborative Patient Care & Technical Support: Work alongside Veterinary Assistants to capture and monitor patient vital signs, ensuring accurate data collection throughout examinations and procedures.Assist Veterinarians during examinations and outpatient procedures, contributing to a seamless and stress-free experience for our patients.

  • Expert Clinical Support: Engage in treatment plan execution under Veterinarian guidance, ensuring that every step aligns with best-practice protocols. Employ safe restraint techniques for small animals during procedures, prioritizing patient comfort and safety.

  • Compassionate Patient Management: Deliver empathetic care to hospitalized and surgical patients, monitoring vital signs and responding promptly to any changes in condition. Prepare and administer medications with precision, maintaining the highest standard of clinical excellence.

  • Diagnostic & Laboratory Coordination: Prepare samples for laboratory testing and support in-house diagnostics, ensuring timely and accurate results that inform patient care. Recognize early signs of medical emergencies and illnesses, taking decisive action to secure patient well-being.

  • Effective Workflow & Client Communication: Maintain a welcoming clinic environment and perform essential housekeeping duties to support overall patient care. Enter patient information into management software with attention to detail, ensuring seamless communication and record-keeping. Engage in client education, providing clear, compassionate guidance that empowers pet owners to make informed care decisions.

 

Qualifications

 

  • 3+ years of experience as a Certified Veterinary Nurse/Technician or completion of a NAVTA-approved program.

  • Availability to work weekdays and rotating weekends.

  • Comfort with computers and online tools.

  • Familiarity with veterinary terminology and pharmaceuticals.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs independently.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Passion for pet care and well-being.

  • Previous animal handling experience preferred.
