Our client is a hospital located in Southern California, near both Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm, currently hiring for an Associate Veterinarian. This is a well-established, full-service clinic that primarily treats cats and dogs but is also equipped to see avians, pocket pets, and zooMED patients depending on clinician interest. The practice offers a supportive and flexible environment ideal for veterinarians seeking either full-time or part-time roles.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with Sunday closures. Schedules are adaptable and can be customized to meet the needs of the right candidate, including options for full-time, part-time, or rotating shifts. This flexibility supports a strong work-life balance while maintaining a commitment to high-quality patient care.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for providing a full range of services including preventive and primary care, internal medicine, and advanced diagnostics. Clinical duties may also involve dermatology, diagnostic imaging, EKG, ultrasound, orthopedic surgery, and treatment of feline hyperthyroidism, depending on the veterinarians interests and expertise. The role is open to both experienced practitioners and new graduates, with a strong focus on mentorship and collaboration.
Practice Details
The clinic is outfitted with modern equipment such as digital radiology, dental radiography, a Tonopen, therapeutic cold laser, EKG, ultrasound, and a microscope with tablet interface. It also features in-house lab analyzers for CBC and chemistry, allowing for efficient diagnostics and treatment. The practice delivers a high standard of care through its advanced capabilities and emphasizes a personalized approach tailored to each patient.
Team
The hospital team includes three DVMs and seven support staff members, comprised of Registered Veterinary Technicians, veterinary assistants, and client service representatives. The team is described as driven, friendly, and highly cooperative, fostering a collaborative and communicative workplace culture where continued learning and mutual support are prioritized.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
