Introduction
Our client is a state of the art small animal hospital located in Marina del Rey, CA, currently hiring for a full-time Lead Veterinarian to serve as Medical Director and help guide the continued growth and excellence of their practice.
Working Hours / Rota
The role is full-time. Doctor hours are to be discussed and will align with leadership responsibilities and clinical duties.
Role Description and Responsibilities
As Lead Veterinarian and Medical Director, you will oversee all medical operations and support a collaborative team of Associate DVMs, technicians, and administrative staff. Responsibilities include setting and upholding high standards of care, mentoring associate veterinarians, guiding medical protocols, and working hands-on in clinical cases involving surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, wellness, and urgent care. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills and is suited to experienced veterinarians with 35 years of clinical experience and preferably prior Medical Director experience.
Practice Details
This modern facility offers a wide range of services including wellness exams, urgent care, diagnostics, spays and neuters, dental cleanings, minimally invasive surgeries, endoscopy, digital imaging, laser therapies, and more. The hospital is fully equipped to support advanced medical procedures and provides a professional, technology-forward environment designed for high-quality care.
Team
The team includes three DVMs, an experienced Hospital Manager, and skilled support staff. The environment is highly collaborative, improvement-focused, and committed to excellence in patient care and professional development.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
