Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Restrain animals safely and compassionately during exams and treatments.
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, exam rooms, and equipment.
- Feed, bathe, exercise, and care for animals under supervision.
- Monitor the condition of animals and report any changes to the veterinarian.
- Prepare surgical equipment and assist with post-operative care.
- Administer medications or treatments under the direction of a veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories.
- Communicate with pet owners in a friendly and informative manner.
- Assist with front-desk duties such as scheduling, answering phones, and checking patients in/out.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Prior experience in animal care or veterinary settings preferred.
- Passion for working with animals and a commitment to their well-being.
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Basic computer and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
