Veterinarian

Lake Orion Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time veterinary associate with strong interests in surgery and dentistry, ultrasound, low-stress handling techniques, and business. Fully equipped in-house lab features Idexx equipment with cytology, digital radiology (dental, too), etc.  Avimark practice management software is used, in conjuction with AI medical records entry.

Duties will include seeing appointments for wellness visits and problem-oriented visits, and performing elective and non-elective surgeries, not limited to spays and neuters.  You will be expected to manage your cases according to industry best practices.  You will be encouraged to expand your comfort-zones and learn new skills, medically and surgical, because learning and growing keeps people motivated and passionate.  Our commitment to "best-practices" and technology is to ensure that every pet receives our absolute best care.  We focus on creating positive pet-experiences during visits, including low-stress handling techniques; and we are kindly attentive to client concerns, making sure they are addressed with our thourough attention, researching of options, and client education.

We use a compensation structure of base pay, plus % of production above the base pay.  Two weeks of vacation time are allowed, with 6 hospital holidays throughout the year.  Simple IRA with 3% match, fully-funded health insurance, CE allowance, vacation time, tuition reimbursement, and more.  No after-hours or emergency work required.

Practice owner is a great mentor, and is very kindly encouraging.  Future could involve practice ownership.
