DVM 3570 Raisonnement quantitatif en developpement international (3 credits)Introduction a l'utilisation des donnees et a l'analyse statistique de base en developpement international. Vue d'ensemble des donnees, des sources de donnees et des mesures quantitatives de base du developpement: ratios, pourcentages, indices (par exemple, l'indice de developpement humain et ses variantes); mesures du revenu national, des inegalites, de la pauvrete; et des indicateurs de base relatifs a la demographie, la sante, l'education et l'environnement. Introduction aux statistiques descriptives, aux statistiques inferentielles de base et aux techniques de base de representation de donnees (principalement a l'aide d'Excel).

La priorite sera accordee aux candidat.es qui maitrisent les fonctions d'analyse statistique de base dExcel, qui sont familier.eres avec differentes sources en lien avec le developpement (tant au niveau national qu'au niveau des enquetes), ainsi quavec les debats entourant les indicateurs de revenu national, de pauvrete, les inegalites et d'autres dimensions du developpement. Des capacites plus avancees en codage ou en analyse statistique (comme la connaissance des SIG ou de logiciels libres tels que R ou Python) constituent un avantage et peuvent etre appliquees a des cas specifiques (en matiere de visualisation des donnees par exemple).
