Our Veterinary Assistants play a critical role in the continued success of this practice collaborating closely with our Veterinarian Technicians and veterinarians overseeing care of our patients from clinic visits, surgeries, and emergencies. Midland Animal Hospital is a general practice hospital and privately owned.
The dedicated team, led by Drs. Tatum, Spence, and Lewis are passionate about providing the best possible care for pets and their owners in the Midland, Columbus, Phenix City and surrounding areas. Pet health, wellness and quality of life are our focal point the moment you walk through our doors. Our patient/client-centered exams rooms, modern surgical suite and in-house laboratory testing provide exceptional care for all stages of a pet’s life journey.

Essential Skills
• Assist Technicians and Veterinarians with patients in rooms using proper restraint.
• Perform diagnostics and simple procedures (radiographs, laser therapy, cytology, dental prophylaxis, venipuncture and fecal samples)
• Prepare, monitor and recover surgical patients.
• Ensure proper care of hospitalized and boarded patients.
• Clean and sanitize areas as needed throughout the day and each evening at closing.
• Discuss discharge instructions with owners.
• Perform bathing and grooming.
• Restock rooms and treatment areas.
