Job Description

Join Our Team as a Veterinarian at Exeter Veterinary Hospital!

Exeter Veterinary Hospital (EVH) is seeking a dedicated, compassionate associate veterinarian for a full or part-time role. For over 50 years, EVH has been a trusted provider of quality veterinary care to New Hampshire's Seacoast communities. Our hospital serves families generation after generation, caring for each new pet with the same commitment to excellence. New veterinarians hired will be replacing long-term vets moving on to retirement as well as expanding and growing our services to accommodate our well-established client volume.

We’re an independently owned, non-corporate practice, with ongoing investments in equipment and a collaborative culture. Our practice owner is ABVP-certified in canine and feline practice, promoting high standards across all aspects of our veterinary care. Daily appointments are filled with a wide range of interesting and occasionally challenging cases including internal medicine, ophthalmology, dermatology, urgent care and more.

The Right Fit:
We’re looking for a progressive, skilled veterinarian with a solid knowledge base (ideally with 1-2 years’ experience, but candidates with any experience level will be considered) who values professional growth and enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.  The practice has a full in-house diagnostic lab (as well as access to a full complement of outside laboratory services), digital radiology and dental radiology.  Ultrasound and echocardiograms are regularly available through traveling specialists.  A full surgical suite with updated monitoring equipment allows for routine surgeries, while more complex surgical procedures can be completed in-house with a traveling surgeon.  Multiple specialist referral hospitals and urgent care facilities are within a short distance of the hospital.  Our clientele value and trust our opinion and often turn to us first but are also willing to pursue workups and treatment that take their pets beyond our care.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current NH veterinary license in good standing
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Logical, problem-based critical thinking and excellent diagnostic interpretation skills
  • Strengths in soft tissue surgery and dentistry are desirable, but schedule can be adjusted for more or less time in surgery or dentistry
  • Sense of humor, strong work ethic, and collaborative spirit

Schedule and Benefits:
Schedules can be individualized to combine your needs and those of our practice. A full-time schedule typically consists of a 3.5 to 4-day workweek. We are offering a competitive salary, commensurate with experience and skill set, with the option of having a flat salary or a pro-sal pay schedule, starting around $120K+.  Part-time schedule and benefits would be negotiated on an individual basis.

Other benefits include:

  • Ample paid time off for vacation/illness/CE
  • 401K plan with matching and profit sharing
  • Two choices for health insurance plans, one including HSA option
  • CE allowance
  • Employee pet care discount
  • And more…

Why Exeter/Stratham NH?
Located in the beautiful NH Seacoast area, we offer proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, numerous lakes, and scenic mountains. Exeter is located less than an hour drive of the larger cities of Boston MA and Portland ME, and Portsmouth NH is only 15 minutes away, giving you easy access to both urban and outdoor experiences.

Ready to join a practice that prioritizes compassionate, knowledgeable care? Send over your information/resume to our contact information today.  Want to start with a simple conversation and a few questions? That’s fine too!  All applications and inquiries will be kept confidential.
