Equine Veterinarian Associate

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated equine veterinarian to join our team at prestigious racetracks in Florida (Palm Meadows/ Palm Beach Downs) and New York (Saratoga Racetrack). The selected individual will have the opportunity to work on some of the finest equine athletes in the sport as well with some of the most renown trainers and personnel. The successful candidate will handle providing medical care to thoroughbred racehorses, including lameness exams, routine check-ups, emergency care, and surgical procedures as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine physical examinations and lameness examinations on racehorses
  • Administer medications as prescribed
  • Perform surgery as needed (castrations, wound repair, etc.)
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide necessary medical care
  • Work with trainers and grooms to develop and implement health and wellness plans for each horse
  • Keep accurate medical records for each horse
  • Monitor the health and well-being of horses daily and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate parties
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in equine veterinary medicine

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary, two days off a week, benefits package, and opportunities for professional growth and advancement.   • State Veterinary license and accreditation
