About the Job

Veterinary Technicians and Assistants are responsible for ensuring that clients and patients receive excellent care at every visit.

As a Veterinary Technician/Assistant you will:

  • Assist veterinarians in appointments and surgery.
  • Perform technical duties such as venipuncture, catheter placement, proper restraint, radiographic positioning, dental prophylaxis, and anesthetic monitoring.
  • Provide client education in pet care, so you must be well versed in regards to various medical procedures and preventive care for pets.
  • Perform reception duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, performing financial transactions, and assisting clients as necessary.

We are looking for caring, compassionate individuals who are comfortable working with dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments.  The ideal candidate will have:

  • A 2-4 year degree in a science-related field.
  • 1-2+ years of previous experience as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant.
  • A strong propensity for customer service.
  • The ability to meet the physical demands of working a 10+ hour shift standing, squatting, walking, lifting and carrying 50 lbs unassisted.
  • The ability to work around substances such as animal saliva, blood, urine, fecal material, vomit, etc.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when needed and 2-3 weekends per month.
  • The ability to work both indoors and outdoors during all seasons.
