Burnt out? Tired of working overnight shifts or 12-hour days? Do you wish you could form a relationship with your clients and patients?
Come work for a small, family-oriented veterinary practice with new, modern facilities and top-of-the-line technologies!
We are looking for an LVT to join our small and growing family! We are a small animal veterinary hospital in Fairfax, Virginia with 3 doctors. Our work atmosphere is generally calm and relaxed and we all get along great and love joking around and having fun while at work. We are team-oriented and are all cross trained so everybody can help everyone out! We all answer phones, talk to clients, respond to emails and help each other out depending on the needs of the day. We take pride in our family and low-stress atmosphere and our ability to practice quality medicine.
The work-life balance at MVP is awesome! We work 5, 8-hour shifts and alternate Saturdays. We are open 8am-6pm Monday-Friday and 8am-4pm on Saturday. We do not over book our doctors so when your shift is over, you are out the door! We do not offer grooming or boarding, so any pets that are in the practice are hospitalized (think rarely barking dogs all day!).
In a given day, a technician at MVP will go in with appointments to get a history and TPR for the doctor and then perform any blood draws, treatments or diagnostics needed. The technicians also start the medical record notes. The technicians assist the doctors with cytologies, in-house diagnostics, bloodwork interpretation and follow-ups as delegated. Our technicians collect specimens and perform routine laboratory procedures and tests in hematology, biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, and serology to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of animal health problems. Dispenses and administer medications, vaccines, serums and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians. Places IV catheters.
The doctors at MVP are as hands-off or hands-on as needed and they allow technicians to do as much as they feel comfortable and are trained to do. We also perform surgeries such as spays, neuters, dentals regularly as well as growth removals, FB, cystotomies, etc. We are looking for a technician that is very comfortable with surgery and monitoring and getting patients down.
We offer great benefits (100% health, 100% dental, 401k, great PTO, bonuses) and have a great work-life balance (we close at 6pm during the week!). The job will likely include working on average two Saturdays a month. We all rotate Saturday shifts.
Must have at least 4 years of experience in small animal medicine. Please do not apply if you do not meet this as you will not be considered.
Please include a little about yourself and why you think you would be the perfect fit for us!
Please include your personal email address and phone number, too! Thank you!
