Always wanted to know about animals and their eye problems? Our one doctor specialty practice is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician. Individuals with veterinary experience that includes anesthesia and surgery are welcome to apply.
We are looking for an individual who is friendly, responsible, hard-working, able to multi-task in a fast paced environment, and enjoys working with others. This position will have significant surgery and anesthesia responsibilities, with plenty of client contact in education and assisting the doctor in the examination room. Good computer keyboarding skills, self-motivation, compassion for animals and people, and attention to detail are essential skills.
Our ideal person is a team player, willing to learn new things and new ideas, and able to work independently once trained. Qualities of dependability and punctuality are essential. A typical day for this person can include restraining patients for doctor for exams and treatments, inputing patient histories, filling prescriptions, administering medications, educating clients of their pets' ophthalmic conditions, preparing patients for surgical and sedated procedures, anesthetic monitoring of patients, recovering patients from anesthetic and sedated procedures, answering phones when coverage is needed, and some janitorial duties.
We are looking to fill a full time position. Salary listed is a starting point and will be dependent on experience and credentials. Increases are available based on experience, education, and performance. We're anticipating 32-40 hours a week on a consistent basis. We are open M-F and some Saturdays (usually 1 per month). Rotating work on Saturdays will be expected.
