Progressive, very busy Small Animal Hospital and Referral Center for Advanced Diagnostics and Surgery is seeking a part-time or full-time Veterinary Technician to join our team. Our technicians get to be hands-on with patient care, not just limited to animal restraint, filling prescriptions and keeping computerized exam notes. We offer high-quality diagnostic services including an extensive in-house lab with Idexx and Abaxis equipment, ultrasound, endoscopy, laser surgery, cold laser therapy, digital xray and telemedicine. In addition to our 4 veterinarians on staff, two of whom see avian and exotics, we have a Residency-trained veterinarian who comes in for advanced orthopedic and soft-tissue surgery. We are not a 24 hr. facility, but we are open 7 days a week, so we can offer a flexible schedule, with a $1.00 more/hour shift differential for Sundays. We are looking for a skilled, compassionate technician who is highly motivated, a team player, detail-oriented, and a quick study. The right candidate needs to be skilled in phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, intubation, drug calculations, surgical preparation, digital radiography, dental prophylaxis and all phases of anesthesia, including induction/anesthetic monitoring/ patient recovery. Patience, a great sense of humor and an ability to balance hard work with good fun are also necessary. If these skills and attributes describe you and you want to work at a hospital that values personal growth and education, please contact us at the email address listed. The part-time position includes significant discounts for products and services for personal pets. The full-time position includes medical benefits, significant discounts for products and services for personal pets, paid vacation and paid holidays. Certified Veterinary Technicians also receive one paid day off and $200 towards CE requirements. Certified Veterinary Technician is preferred, but not required if skills are balanced with experience.
