Privately-owned, well-established small-animal clinic seeks a positive, hard-working individual with a sense of humor for our growing companion animal practice in Southwest NH. Located just outside a scenic small college town, it is centrally located near lakes and mountains while just two hours from Boston and the Seacoast. This is a great area in which to live; with excellent public schools, the great outdoors, and arts and culture all within reach.
This is an opportunity to work in a new, 5,000 square-foot state-of-the-art facility with in-house Lab, Digital X-Ray, Digital Dental X-Ray, and Laser Therapy. We have a friendly work environment and excellent support staff. We work hard because we love what we do, and want to provide the best care that we can to our patients. The ideal candidate will be mature, compassionate -- with people as well as animals, dedicated and motivated, with high standards for patient care. Some half-Saturdays and limited emergency coverage required.
Some duties will include: Surgery; preventive care; diagnosing illness/disease in puppy/kitten through senior; euthanasia; evaluate and explain X-Ray and Lab results; treatment discussions with clients; follow-up phone calls. Experience is preferred but new graduates are welcome to apply. Salary and benefits commensurate with experience. Andrew V. Cooke, D.V.M. (Owner/Doctor) -- Doctor Cooke received his Bachelor’s of Science from Cornell University and his DVM from Tufts University (Cummings). He has been providing general medical, surgical and dental services for over 20 years. He is a member of AVMA and has USDA accreditation. Doctor Cooke has practiced in New York, Vermont, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. He has been in the Monadnock Region since 1992. He has two dogs: Kai, a Rhodesian Ridgeback; and Bailey, a long haired Jack Russell Terrier. He also has Briar Rose, a domestic shorthair cat, and a rabbit named Mr. Fuzziwig. In his spare time, Doctor Cooke enjoys singing with his barbershop quartet, performing in community theater and fly fishing.
