Job Description

Anderson Veterinary Clinic is 4 doctor small animal practice, set in a beautiful, award winning facility. Our team of doctors and support staff are very skilled,  engaged, motivated and caring. We practice comprehensive medicine that relies heavily on diagnostics. We are well supported with 2 fully equipped surgery suites, digital X-Ray and dental X-Ray, ultrasound, and in-house as well as reference lab. We are serious about client service and satisfaction, as well as employee satisfaction and growth, both professionally and personally. You will establish close, long term relationships with pets and their owners as you are engaged in a broad range of medical, surgical, and dental cases. What you bring to the table will be appreciated and used while you are mentored and given the opportunity to grow and learn in your less strong areas. You will be encouraged and supported in specific areas of interest you may have, (e.g. one of our doctors loves orthopedics, another loves dentistry, another loves internal medicine and diagnostic imaging. They are all given opportunities for CE and wet labs/workshops as well as equipment purchase to apply their interests in the practice). We want our practice to be a little bit better each day. As a doctor at Anderson Veterinary Clinic, you will be expected to be a little bit better each day than you were the day before, with the goal of excellence always before you. You will be part of a team which recognizes the importance of work-life balance and the reality of "compassion fatigue"; a team and management that watch out for each other. Management cares about you as an unique individual and not just as a means to the bottom line. We believe that the workplace can be an enjoyable/satisfying environment while at the same time providing excellent service. We see our doctors as leaders, and keys to practice success. As a result,  you will also be expected to be transparent and compassionate in relating to staff, other doctors, and clients. You will be expected to communicate effectively. You will be expected to be a mentor/teacher as well as an intern/learner.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid California Veterinary License.
  • Experience in medicine, surgery, and dentistry or desire to be mentored.
  • Ability to consult and work with other doctors as a team.
  • Able to effectively deal with the challenge of educating clients in a way that they can understand and navigating "best medicine" within their financial concerns.
  • Comfortable in a work environment where transparency and accountability are emphasized.
  • Gain credibility with staff and clients as a veterinarian and a person of high moral character.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: Pro-Sal range of $80,000 - $150,000, (depending on experience and ability).
  • Medical/Dental/Vision insurance participation.
  • AFLAC.
  • 401-K.
  • License fees.
  • Continuing Education stipend.
  • Sick Leave.
  • PTO, (Doctors begin with 3 weeks).
  • Veterinary benefits for personal pets, (Services and procedures are free and products are at cost).
