Job Description

Offshore Animal Hospital is a full service busy six-doctor veterinary hospital on the beautiful island of Nantucket. It is our commitment to provide quality medical care for the life of pets and maintain an animal hospital with advanced technology and diagnostics on island. We offer boarding, wellness visits, internal medicine, acupuncture, surgical and dental services by appointment or on an emergency basis.

 

Veterinary Associate

We are looking for an energetic individual to join our team either on a full or part time basis. We are a busy 6 doctor practice with 26 employees.  Our practice is growing and we are ready to expand our work family.  Offshore Animal Hospital is a general medicine practice that sees primarily cats and dogs with a small case load of exotics, wildlife and large animals. As the only facility on Nantucket Island, we do perform house calls and see emergencies, we always have a doctor /technician on call when we are closed. 

 

Our facility offers digital record keeping (Cornerstone), full in house lab work (procyte, catalyst, snapshot, clotting profiles), acupuncture, digital radiographs, ultrasound, oxygen tanks, microscope/ cytology station, anesthetic monitoring equipment and a full surgical suite. We use both Idexx and Antech as reference laboratories.  We have a boarding facility with a daycare program.  Our staff is caring and supportive and we want to help you grow in this field.

 

We are looking for an associate veterinarian who can work both independently and on a team.  The ideal candidate would either be internship trained or have 3 years of previous experience.  This person will enjoy working up a case from start to finish and enjoy client communication and education.  The right candidate will have a strong interest in both medical and surgical skills. The position requires a minimum of 25 hours per week.  This position has possibilities of partnership.
