Emergency Veterinary Technician – Full Time or Part Time
Mason Dixon Animal Emergency Hospital in Shrewsbury, PA is a privately owned emergency facility serving northern Baltimore and southern York counties.
As we are continuing to grow and serve our community, we are currently looking for part-time and full-time experienced veterinary technicians to join our team. Our technicians manage hospital flow, and ensure that all clients and patients receive excellent, high quality, emergency care. Technicians must be able to follow instructions quickly, delegate tasks efficiently, be knowledgeable of necessary veterinary medicine, and possess a strong set of technical skills in a fast-paced environment. Our technicians are the liaison between coworkers and veterinarians, clients, and patients. Technicians need to be able to communicate effectively and handle animals in situations that may be less than ideal. Applicants should have weekend and holiday availability.
We offer competitive compensation and a competitive benefits package including a $2/hour overnight differential, $0.50/hour weekend differential and 2x base pay for recognized holidays worked.

Requirements
- Prior veterinary experience is highly recommended, but not required.
- Graduate from a NAVTA approved Veterinary Technician school with credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT) from passing the VTNE or comparable on the job training at a previous hospital.
- Passion for client care and animal welfare
- Ability to work nights, rotating weekends and rotating holidays.
- Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Abilities Required, But Not Limited To:
Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
Static Strength - The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects a minimum of 50 lbs.
