Busy full service animal hospital needs a full-time Kennel Assistant/Facilities Maintenance person to help care for our patients/boarders and keep our hospital properly maintained and sanitized.

As a Kennel Assistant, your main focus will be on the health, welfare and comfort of the pets in our hospital.  Making sure kennels and pets remain clean, are always supplied with proper food and water, are exercised appropriately, etc.  In addition, your duties would include:

• Assisting the Veterinary Technicians/Doctor
• Grooming pets (brush and/or bathe)
• Laundry
• Receiving deliveries (some heavy lifting involved)
• Client interactions
• All aspects of janitorial work to maintain the facility

Kennel Assistants are needed 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 
HOURS:  Monday through Friday  7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Holidays 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (double time)
We open to the public at 9:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday.

Qualifications & Skills

Besides loving pets, a successful applicant should be mature, dependable, able to work independently and be a self-starter!  Being able to properly restrain both dogs and cats is a top priority, so training will be provided.  Prior experience in animal care (not counting your personal pets!) is a plus, but not required.  "Handyman" abilities appreciated!  Hourly rate is based on experience, with entry level starting at minimum wage.
