Job Description

Metro West Emergency/Hulen Hills Animal Hospital is building a new 23,000 square foot facility in the heart of Fort Worth, TX. We are seeking candidates for emergency veterinarians who have a passion and a desire to make meaningful connections with our patients and clients. What sets us apart is our focus on the people who love the pets under our care. We aim to help pets feel better, play more, love longer, and to maximize the life our clients share with their beloved companions. This position works a rotating schedule that includes overnights, weekends, and holidays. The four-week rotation schedule includes 3 to 4 shifts worked consecutively coupled with 4 to 7 days off.

Our Emergency Veterinarians must have the ability to lead the team through a variety of cases to best serve our clients and patients. The new facility will have the most advanced diagnostic capabilities, including CT, digital x-ray and ultrasonography, flexible endoscopy, and will provide many orthopedic and neuro surgical solutions in-house. We are designing a state-of-the art training center so that we can provide ongoing education to keep our team staffed with the best and brightest people in the industry. CE training will be accompanied by training on relational connections and trust with our clients.

We currently have 9 veterinarians on staff. The doctors partner with each other on hard cases, ensuring our patients are getting the best of our collective efforts. We provide each other with support on those days when nothing seems to go right. We trust the other has our back when we’re gone, which allows us to focus on our family, friends, and hobbies during our time off. Having a team you trust will allow you to reap the rewards of a work/life balance.

Because this veterinarian may be the only one on duty at times (during overnight shifts), the ideal candidate will require strong analytical and technical abilities and will demand fast, but carefully thought-out results. Strong leadership and control of the work process from beginning to end is necessary.

The ideal candidate will thrive on:

  • The challenge to quickly build trusting relationships with people during emergent situations
  • Fast-paced environments
  • Leading and controlling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Calculated risk-taking
  • Independent decision making not requiring collaboration
  • Candid delegation to others with active follow-up

We offer an extremely generous production-based salary and benefits including health insurance, $10,000 signing bonus, CE allowance, professional dues, and license renewal. Please send your resume for consideration to click to view.
