Located in Richmond’s historic Scott’s Addition, which offers a wide range of craft breweries and local restaurants within walking distance, Scott’s Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time veterinary assistant to join our team.

SAAH opened in March of 2021 and is a growing, busy, small animal practice that offers routine care, hospitalization, surgery, and dental services.  We currently are a two-doctor practice looking to expand.  We are continually growing, and we are looking for new team members to join our team and to grow with us.  

We are looking for self-motivated, upbeat, responsible candidates that are professional and dedicated to providing the best care to our patients and clients.  Candidates must be able to work well in a team environment and be a member of a positive team culture.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Patient care/husbandry/proper restraint
• Maintaining cleanliness of the hospital
• Administering some vaccinations, nail trims, anal gland expressions
• Obtaining samples (feces, urine)
• Preparing samples
• In-house laboratory testing
• Equipment maintenance
• Assisting in ultrasounds
• Assisting with radiographs
• Surgical instruments cleaning, packing, and autoclaving
• Patient invoicing
• Client education
• Maintain medical records
