Key Responsibilities
* Clinical Leadership Lead by example in performing thorough and compassionate physical examinations, ensuring minimal stress for pets while practicing and upholding gold-standard medicine. Mentor junior staff to promote the same level of excellence in patient care.
* Expert Communication: Clearly and empathetically communicate complex findings and treatment recommendations to pet owners, empowering them with the information and confidence needed to make informed decisions. Take the lead in difficult conversations, providing guidance to associates and staff as needed.
* Proactive Health Strategy: Take an active role in shaping the clinic's preventive care protocols, ensuring that vaccinations and treatments align with Tandems philosophy of proactive health management. Lead initiatives to improve preventive care practices across the team.
* Advanced Diagnostics & Clinical Decision-Making: Oversee the use of cutting-edge
diagnostic tools, guiding the team in the interpretation of results. Take responsibility for making complex diagnostic decisions and ensuring that all tests and procedures contribute to the highest level of patient care.
* Collaborative Practice & Mentorship: Actively mentor and support clinical team members, ensuring that treatment plans are tailored to each patients unique needs. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and the sharing of knowledge among all team members.
* Uphold & Elevate Clinical Standards: Stay at the forefront of industry best practices,
maintaining compliance with licensing regulations, and setting the benchmark for clinical excellence. Lead training and development initiatives to maintain a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
* Lead Process & Workflow Improvements: Proactively identify areas for improvement in clinic workflows, technology integration, and clinical protocols. Drive process changes to optimize efficiency, enhance patient care, and support the growth of Tandems clinical capabilities. Provide strategic insights into the evolution of the practice.
Qualifications
* Educational Background: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
* Licensing: Valid veterinary license to practice in Massachusetts or able to obtain before the start date.
* Experience: Minimum of 6 years of hands-on veterinary experience in a clinical or mobile setting.
* Animal Handling: Proficiency in safe and compassionate handling and restraint techniques.
* Technical Proficiency: Comfort using modern veterinary software, diagnostic tools, and AI-powered systems.
* Diagnostic Skills: Ability to accurately interpret lab tests, imaging results, and other
diagnostics.
* Treatment Planning: Experience in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans. * Experience with chronic disease management or advanced surgery is preferred.
* Client Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly and empathetically.
* Team Player Mindset: Enthusiastic about a collaborative culture that values feedback, mentorship, and shared growth.
* Flexibility: Willingness to work in various clinical settings (mobile, telehealth, hospital) and shifts, including evening and weekend shifts.
