Partner Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is a hospital hiring for a Partner/ Owner Veterinarian to open and lead a brand-new small animal practice. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated DVM to step into a leadership role with the support of a veterinary-focused group that believes in keeping clinical and operational control in the hands of veterinarians. Although not independently owned, this model offers full autonomy in decision-making while minimizing startup risks.

Working Hours / Rota
The schedule for this position is highly flexible, with the Partner Veterinarian determining their own working hours, including the number of days worked per week, weekend coverage, and after-hours availability. This flexibility allows for a personalized work-life balance from the very beginning of the practices development.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Partner Veterinarian will be responsible for all aspects of patient care and hospital leadership, including wellness care, internal medicine, surgery, and dentistry. This role is designed for an experienced veterinarian who is ready to take ownership of their career and build a clinic from the ground up. Responsibilities also include hiring and mentoring future team members, determining the medical and cultural direction of the practice, and working closely with a supportive network of industry professionals. Leadership development resources will be provided to support the veterinarians growth as the practice scales.

Practice Details
The hospital will be built to the Partner Veterinarians specifications, with input on location, layout, equipment, and design. Facilities will be state-of-the-art, modern, and tailored to the doctors clinical interests and workflow preferences. This allows for the creation of a customized environment optimized for high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.

Team
Initially, the Partner Veterinarian will be the sole DVM for the first 6 to 12 months, working alongside a support staff that will be hired based on the doctors preferences. As the practice grows, the goal is to expand the team by adding additional DVMs and support personnel. The culture will be shaped by the founding doctor, fostering a collaborative, empowering, and patient-focused environment.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
