Introduction
Our client is an AAHA-accredited 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital in Springfield, Oregon, hiring for a Chief of Specialty to lead their specialty services team. Serving the Eugene, Springfield, and Oregon Coast regions, the hospital is known for its collaborative, high-standard environment and commitment to excellent patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates around the clock, seven days a week. This is a full-time leadership position with no after-hours or on-call duties beyond scheduled shifts. The schedule will be structured in collaboration with hospital leadership to support both clinical and administrative responsibilities.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Chief of Specialty will serve as the clinical leader across all specialty departments, including internal medicine, dentistry, and surgery. In collaboration with the Hospital Director and Medical Director, this role will oversee interdepartmental communication, guide clinical development, mentor team members, and ensure high-quality specialty care is delivered consistently. This position is designed for a diplomate or board-eligible veterinarian with specialty training and leadership experience.

Practice Details
The facility includes a fully equipped diagnostic lab, digital radiography, ultrasound, oxygen therapy, endoscopy, and advanced surgical suites. Emergency and specialty services are fully supported by modern infrastructure and a dedicated in-house team. The hospitals AAHA accreditation reflects its commitment to the highest standards of veterinary care.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
