General Practice (Veterinarian)

Introduction
Our client is a privately owned hospital that is 70% small animal focused, with the remaining 30% split across mammals, reptiles, and birds. They are currently looking to welcome a new Associate Veterinarian to their growing team. This is a full-service general practice that offers a diverse caseload and a collaborative environment where both experienced veterinarians and new graduates are encouraged to thrive.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open six days a week, from 8am to 6pm Monday through Friday, and 8am to 12pm on Saturdays. The standard full-time schedule for doctors is four days per week, with a rotating Saturday morning. However, the team is open to part-time candidates and flexible scheduling, including accommodations for those who may need reduced hours during the day for commitments such as school drop-offs and pick-ups.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full spectrum of general practice veterinary responsibilities. The hospital is equally supportive of doctors who prefer a high-volume surgery caseload and those who prefer not to perform surgery at all. The flexibility offered allows veterinarians to shape their responsibilities based on clinical interests and strengths, making this a great opportunity for individuals at any stage of their veterinary career.

Practice Details
This is a full-service small animal general practice hospital, equipped with digital x-rays, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, five exam rooms, and Heska in-house lab equipment. The practice is designed to support comprehensive, high-quality care and has built a reputation for its well-rounded services and strong community ties.

Team
With the addition of this new hire, the hospital will operate as a 3.5 doctor practice, supported by a 3:1 technician-to-doctor ratio, rising to 8:1 when including assistants and client service representatives. The team culture is focused on support, collaboration, and mentoring, providing an ideal setting for continued professional development.
