JOB DESCRIPTION: The residency training program consists of 3 elements: residency training in laboratory animal clinical medicine and pathology (70%), course work in professional subjects and basic science (5%), and research experience (25%). The basic program is for two years with the initial appointment for one year renewable for a second year subject to satisfactory performance. The clinicopathologic component involves participation in the veterinary medical care of laboratory animals through clinical and pathology services of the School of Medicine and Yerkes National Primate Research Center. Residents participate in appropriate meetings, seminars, conferences and courses as a student and as a presenter or instructor. Teaching responsibilities are assigned after the first year.
